Big Question:
Where can
I find sharp-tailed grouse and prairie chickens?:
Some wildlife
agencies set up blinds so the public can reserve a
seat during the time the birds are dancing on
their leks in the spring, best viewing early April to early May.
This would be your best opportunity to view these birds. Dakota
Birding does not guide persons for these blind setups on federal
lands. I encourage you to call the agencies and set up a blind date.

South of Harvey (by
Lonetree Refuge). There is a great restaurant on south of end
of town, open early, great food & prices.
The Sheyenne
National Grasslands, managed by the US
Forest Service, south of Valley City by Lisbon,
has leks of grouse and prairie chickens. The most recent
information I have is that they
don't offer blind use to the public.
